MX Coaches & Athletes Celebrate Club Success at Harbour Views

Winning isn’t a focus for MX, but recently it sure has been a product.

The Wellington Premier 1 club competitions wrapped up in early August, and MX coaches and athletes were in the thick of the action.

The Harbour City women broke a long title drought, running away 5 - 1 winners over Hutt United. MX coach, Estelle Macadre was prominent all season for Harbour City and was supported by a few MX graduates. Emily Register, Kate Boswell and Ash Chandra, all former MX athletes, contributed on Finals day.

After outclassing Naenae in the semi-final, Hutt United fought hard for a 2 - 0 win over long standing rivals, Dalefield H.C. MX coaches, Ollie Logan, Conor Gilchrist and Lochie Paton all featured for Hutt and were joined by former MX coach Daan Jongejan.

Both Harbour City and Hutt United had their fair share of challenges during the year but each came together at critical times and showed up when it mattered most.

MX has always had a holistic approach, we place value on the process rather than the outcome. That being said, this time around, having Harbour City and Hutt United's names engraved on the club trophies sits just fine with us.

...And just in case you thought we were going to end on a serious note, the MX crew celebrated on Saturday evening with a quiet night in at Harbour Views, cheers Lochie & co.

On to next year!
