Strong MX Representation in Capital U18 Women

After a thorough and competitive selection process, the Capital U18 Womens team has been named to compete at the National U18 tournament in July.

The team has a strong representation of current and former MX girls, with 9 of the final 18 players selected having been involved with MX over the past few years. We're stoked to see these girls rewarded for all the hard work and extra hours they've put into developing their game.

After playing at the Capital U18 level in previous years, Bella Cronin-Stone and Georgie Peterson will be two of the experienced players to watch this year. Bella will be representing Capital at her third National U18 tournament, bringing with her a wealth of experience and high-level skill set to match. Likewise, Georgie will be a important part of the team's defensive unit, and will add valuable leadership skills through her experience captaining the Marsden 1Xl this year.

On the other side of the spectrum, Jade Jones will make her Capital U18 debut in her first year playing at U18 level. Jade's attacking skill set and eye for goal have helped her transition straight into the Capital set-up after representing Wellington at U15 level last year. She'll be teaming up with Wellington Girls College teammate, and former MX member, Sara Cooper up front - don't be surprised if you see these two filling up the score sheet come July!

The Capital girls will now train as a team over the next 6-8 weeks before heading to Dunedin for tournament in mid-July. Given the mix of experience and talent in the team, the girls will be eyeing a top four finish, and could go all the way if they play their cards right.

We're looking forward to following their progress over the next couple of months - watch this space!
